How We Research
A helicopter flight over Kilauea or the Kohala coast is a big-ticket decision, and you deserve to know where every number on this site comes from. This page explains our sources, our checking schedule, and what booking links do and do not influence.
Where the tour facts come from
Every price, flight duration, rating, review count, inclusion, and cancellation policy we publish is read directly from the tour's own listing on GetYourGuide, the marketplace where the tours are actually booked. At the moment this site compares 20 tours departing from Kona and Hilo.
- Tour listings last checked: 3 October 2026
- Prices can change at any moment; the price you see at checkout on GetYourGuide is the one that counts.
How we use traveller reviews
Reviews tell you what a brochure cannot. We read recent ones to find what travellers keep bringing up: what impressed them, what caught them off guard, and what they wish they had known before flying. When we quote a review, it comes from a real traveller. Quotes are sometimes shortened, and each one links to the tour it describes so you can read the full context yourself.
Practical details on the ground
Flight times mean little if you cannot get to the heliport. For opening hours, distances, seasonal notes, and directions to the departure bases, we rely on official sources, maps, and recent reports from visitors, and we re-check them whenever we update the pages.
Do booking links change what we say?
No. Affiliate links never decide which tours appear on this site or where they rank in a comparison. If a tour is listed, it is listed because it earns a place on its own merits. The details of how these links work are in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Spotted something out of date?
Helicopter schedules and prices shift often. If you find a detail here that no longer matches what you see when booking, please tell us and we will correct it.
